Shaun joined Zen Hospice Project as Executive Director in April of 2009.

Originally from England, he was educated at Cambridge University. After his studies, he went on to become a successful Director of Trading with two leading financial institutions in London before running his own investment management company in San Francisco. He retired early and has since chosen to serve in the non-profit sector.

Before coming to Zen Hospice, Shaun spent several years volunteering with I-India in Jaipur, India. There he created and managed projects serving working and homeless children, and also taught on the streets. He then volunteered for mothers2mothers in Africa where he launched and managed programs aimed at preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV/AIDS in a number of high-prevalence countries.

Shaun attended our Volunteer Caregiver Training earlier this year and now serves as a volunteer at the Laguna Honda Hospice one evening a week. He lives in Mill Valley and is an avid Chelsea soccer fan.
