David Cohn

David Cohn has been a hospice volunteer with the Zen Hospice Project since April, 1998, and has served on the Board of Directors. He has been practicing Buddhism and Buddhist meditation since 1969, originally as a student of Suzuki Roshi, and was ordained as a priest of the San Francisco Zen Center in 1977.

He took a break from residential practice in 1984. Since that time he married, had a daughter and has owned and operated two restaurants in San Francisco.  He considers contemplative and compassionate hospice care to be an extension of his Buddhist practice.
