Hanne Jensen-Male
Hanne is a Registered Nurse and Certified Case Manager with many years of experience working with the dying. She was a hospice nurse at the Guest House before its closure in 2004 for renovations, and has now come full circle to once again be part of the ZHP community. Hanne left Denmark in her youth in search of adventure and different cultures and, after spending some time in Israel, arrived to San Francisco in 1977 where she earned her BA in Journalism from SFSU. She moved to Brazil as a correspondent and soon became involved in local public health issues. Upon her return to San Francisco, she went back to school for her Master’s in Nursing. She also completed the year-long Metta End-of-Life Practitioner program in 2010. Hanne’s personal experiences of death and dying inform her passion for helping others through this transition.
