Submitted by eden on Wed, 10/27/2010 - 14:17

Mary Doane brings an intelligent and kindhearted nature to her service at Zen Hospice Project. Since 2005, she has served our mission in a variety of capacities: as a bedside caregiver, as a community outreach speaker, and as a volunteer training facilitator. Mary’s dedication to compassionate service and spiritual practice are rooted in her chaplaincy training with the Sati Center for Buddhist Studies and her involvement with the Buddhist Alliance for Social Engagement. Mary was born in San Francisco and raised in Berkeley, CA. She holds a BA degree in Women’s Studies from Mills College located in Oakland, CA where she lives today with her husband and teen-aged daughter. Mary enjoys walking, Pilates, and poetry.
