Heaven's Door

Cornelia lived at the Guest House for several weeks in good spirits and full of life. One day, she took a sudden turn for the worse. Her heart rate slowed and she slipped into a coma. Two days later, Cornelia awakened just as suddenly, and clearly stated: ‘I’m hungry.’ The she told us about her travels:
‘I was the first one in the line. I was ready. And this other woman comes up and barges into the line ahead of me. I was annoyed. And God said that it was indeed this other woman’s turn. No way, I said, I am first in line. But God assured me that this other woman really did have the proper ticket and that it was simply NOT my time to cross over. I reluctantly started back towards Earth; extremely disappointed that Heaven was not ready for me. Then I heard my sister (who has been dead for many years) say it was not my time yet because I had some lessons to learn down here on earth. So I came back.’
And so it was. Cornelia spent another month with us. Laughing and crying, learning to live through intermittently painful days, and expressing parts of her self kept hidden for years. Some time later, Cornelia’s heart slowed once again. This time, she died peacefully and made it through Heaven’s door.
