One Night, One Heart 2007
10. Amazing Graces
Special Guest: Eric Poché
Hosts: Lindsay & Peter Joost
Dinner at the Joosts' Home by: Chef David Freasier - San Francisco
For many, Special Guest Eric Poché is the first person they've met who has repeatedly looked death in the face. Not only does he offer a glimpse at what dying looks like to the living, but as an experienced caregiver at the Shanti Project, the AIDS Health Project, and now as Zen Hospice Project's Director of Volunteer Services, he has helped the dying, and those caring for them, ease their fears and accept their transition. In Eric's capacity as the developer and implementer of the training curriculum for new and veteran volunteers, he has an exceptional gift for sympathetic education. The Joosts open their beautiful art- and life-filled Pacific Heights home to those who wish to further explore the incredible grace bestowed on those working with the dying. This is an evening that - by removing taboos around talking about death - may well change your life.
