One Night One Heart

One Night, One Heart 2007

4. Full of Moxie
Special Guest: Tiffany Shlain
Hosts: Celeste & Anthony Meier
Dinner at the Meiers' Home by: Quince Restaurant - San Francisco

When your Special Guest has a resume as long as Tiffany Shlain's, you could be forgiven for thinking she would have to be 200 years old to have accomplished what she has - and yet she is a feisty and incredibly talented young woman. A household name synonymous with The Webby Awards, which she founded in 1996, Tiffany is also an accomplished filmmaker, internet advocate, sculptor and mother. The common thread for her pursuits is, according to her website, her "...love [of] distilling complicated ideas in unorthodox and entertaining ways." Her most recent venture is The Moxie Institute - a collective that creates work drawn from the intersection of film, performance, the internet, and social change. Be prepared to explore topics as diverse as how the history of the Barbie doll reflects American Jewish identity (the subject of Tiffany's 2006 film, "The Tribe") to the fight about reproductive rights. To match the mind's stimulation, the appetite will be equally joyous to receive the talents of the famed Quince Restaurant in the setting of Celeste and Anthony Meier's historic home.
