Our Stories

Our StoriesOur Stories

Listening to and sharing stories is a natural extension of practicing presence and an important expression of our caregiving.

Amazing things take place every day at Zen Hospice.  By listening, we provide a way for our residents and their loved ones to express wishes,  create an ethical will, or simply preserve an important moment or memory.

Tapping the creative power of video, photography, writing, music, and poetry, we are exploring ways to communicate the deep meaning, profound connection, and joy of our collective work, and as well as to share them as a legacy for others.

This project was made possible in part by support from Cal Humanities, a non-profit partner of the National Endowment of the Humanities. Visit www.calhum.org.

This project is supported in part by funding from the Brimstone Award as administered by the National Storytelling Network.

StoryCorps Legacy

Zen Hospice is proud to be a participant in StoryCorps Legacy. This StoryCorps program provides people of all ages with serious illnesses, and their families, the opportunity to record their stories.   As a partner, members of Zen Hospice—residents, family members and friends, volunteers and our staffs—have the chance to  record, share, and preserve their stories.
